Hello LG! It's the DeeNasty here bringing you the DeeNasty Rankings following up on Week 2. It was a lot of work and time to cover the entire league for the previous write ups, so I have brought the Co-Host of the DeeNasty Radio show on board, Infamous @Austin2997 , to help me in doing these weekly rankings. We have tweaked a little bit with adding a +/- to show movement from the week along with some other little things.

You guys know the deal by now so here we go. First up in Conference Rankings followed up by division breakdown. Starting with Conference Rankings and moving into Divisional Breakdowns. Here we go!

    EASTERN CONFERENCE

    1 - Toronto Marlies

    2 - Utica Comets
    3 - Hershey Bears
    4 - Hartford Wolf Pack
    5 - Syracuse Crunch

    7 - Albany Devils
    8 - Rochester Americans
    9 - Lehigh Valley Phantoms
    10 - Bridgeport Sound Tigers
11 - Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins
    12 - St. John’s Ice Caps
    13 - Providence Bruins
    14 - Springfield Thunderbirds

    WESTERN CONFERENCE

    1 - Iowa Wild
    2 - Cleveland Monsters
    3 - Chicago Wolves
    4 - Texas Stars
    5 - Stockton Heat
    6 - Charlotte Checkers
    7 - Bakersfield Condors
    8 - Manitoba Moose
    9 - San Antonio Rampage
    10 - Rockford IceHogs
    11 - San Diego Gulls
    12 - San Jose Barracuda
    13 - Tucson Roadrunners
    14 - Milwaukee Admirals
    15 - Grand Rapids Griffins
    16 - Ontario Reign

    Eastern North

    1. Toronto Marlies:

After an 8-1-0 start, Pwnerer and the rest of the buds were challenged to replicate their week 1 success. While they weren’t as dominant during the second week of the season they still kept it together and compiled a 5-1-3 record, good for 29 of a possible 36 points on the season. The Marlies continued to torture teams offensively throughout the second week of the season, currently sitting second in goals for, all the while not having a forward in the top 25 for points. Toronto’s offense has seemed to overshadow what might be best about them, their goaltending. @xMeLLo finds himself tied for second in wins and third in Sv% with a microscopic .860%.
    Weekly Grade: B+
    :flames:
    From Last Week: +1

    2. Utica Comets

Utica debuted with a very average 5-win week 1 but has responded in week 2 and reeled off wins in 8 of their past 10 games to catapult themselves to the number 2 spot in the DeeNasty Rankings. Pulling off impressive victories against Hershey and Stockton, it appears the team is benefiting immensely from the play of @xSkyhawk024x in net. Leading the league in Sv% with an almost certainly unsustainable .863% save clip. The defense is doing their part though, holding the opposition to 117 total shots while Skyhawk is in net, second lowest amongst all goalies with 9 starts or more. The backbone of this team is their stingy goaltending and defense, if the hope to catch Toronto it must remain that way.
    Weekly Grade: A-
    :flames:
    From Last Week: +1

    3. Syracuse Crunch

The #2 spot most likely would have been theirs had they beaten Hartford to close out the 2nd week, but nonetheless, a solid 6-win week has positioned Syracuse at the #3 spot. Early points leader @LoBo_DaNgLeS_12 is carrying the majority of the load for this team with a staggering 28 points in 6 games… What. The team could probably benefit from a bit more secondary scoring and slightly improved goaltending, but, they’re the best possession team in the league, and if the team can benefit from a bit more puck luck, the pre-season predictions with this team at #1 might not be too far off.

    Weekly Grade: B :)
    From Last Week: -2

    4. Binghampton Senators

The baby Sens have quite the big boy offense, don’t they? Pacing the Eastern Conference with over 4 goals per game, teams struggled in the 2nd week to contain Binghamton’s forwards, scoring at least 3 goals in all 9 contests this week. Credit their 4th ranked possession numbers and having two top 25 forwards for the success they’ve had thus far. Odds are they can’t maintain their pace as the East’s most explosive offense though. So it’s up to them to patch up their holes defensively and find stability in goaltending if they hope to fight off the competition over the remaining 7 weeks.

    Weekly Grade: B-
    From Last Week: +2

    5. Albany Devils

This team was fortunate to reel of 3 wins to end the week at a 9-8-1 record. It appears secondary scoring and defense could go a long way for this team. With their goal differential at -6 it doesn’t seem like luck will be on their side for much longer. @XCAPEMYSCH—LONG has played admirably, but goalies just can’t win games like they used to, an improvement on defense would surely enhance this team’s potential.

    Weekly Grade: B-
    From Last Week: -

    6. Rochester Americans

Thanks to some significant divisional disparity, Rochester finds themselves 6th on our list, and 6th in the Eastern North. But to put it into perspective, the American’s, instead of 6th in the North, would find themselves tied for 3rd in the Atlantic. If only @Robbed95, @Purtuzzi and @Agent-PC were allowed to play more than 3 games a week.

    Weekly Grade: B-
    From Last Week: +1

    7. St. John’s Ice Caps

The team improved after their disastrous 2-9-0 start, but still finding themselves in the basement of the North and 5 points out of a playoff spot. The expected positions of strength have instead been weakness’ and the offense has sputtered more times than not. There is still faith in this team, but 4th worst possession numbers need to improve, and the goalies, or the defensemen, perhaps both, need to lock it down if the Ice Caps hope for any success throughout the remainder of the season.

    Weekly Grade: C- o_O:thinking:
    From Last WEek: -3

    Eastern Atlantic

    1. Hershey Bears

Arguably the most well rounded team in the Eastern Conference having the 4th ranked offense and #1 defense in the East, paired with a pair of goaltenders above an .800 Sv%. Odds are this will be the team battling the Marlies for Eastern supremacy, they will be the most consistent team undoubtedly, which is why they find themselves at the top of the Eastern Atlantic.

    Weekly Grade: B :D
    From Last Week: -

    2. Hartford Wolf Pack

Hartford followed up their 5-win week 1… With another 5-win week 2. The only team that has a fighting chance at taking top spot from the Bears, the Wolf Pack came away with impressive victories over the Chicago Wolves and Syracuse Crunch, allowing them to come in at the 4 spot. For a team that lacks offense, they sure make up for it defensively. Currently seated as the second best defensive team in the East, they also find themselves controlling the puck at the 6th best rate in the Eastern Conference. If the teams goaltenders can find a way to play above average this team could continue ascending up the Eastern leaderboards.

    Weekly Grade: B :get-carried:
    From Last Week: +2

    3. Lehigh Valley Phantoms

    7-0 to the Griffins.
    Luckily, there’s worse teams.

    Weekly Grade: C (7-0, really?)
    From Last Week: +4

    4. Bridgeport Sound Tigers

    @TrapMC

    Weekly Grade: C-
    From Last Week: +1

    5. Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins

At the conclusion of week 1, it was assumed the WBS Penguins were going to be a powerhouse squad, capable of dismantling any team at will. Fast forward to the conclusion of week 2, and you have to wonder what went wrong with this team. 6 of their 9 games did come against opponents with a winning record, which may help to explain, but surely they should have had a more successful 2nd week. Next week sure be a good measurement to really understand what this team is capable of.

    Weekly Grade: F :poop::poop::poop:
    From Last Week: -3

    6. Providence Bruins

With only 4 wins on the season, the team has a few bright spots, albeit, a few. @jiccy31 is pacing the team with 21 points in 6 games and goaltender @lx-_-ced_noel_-xl putting up over an .800Sv% while holding opponents to under 3GPG. With zero secondary scoring and the third worst defense in the East, it’s safe to assume this team may need a full face lift.

    Weekly Grade: D-

    7. Springfield Thunderbirds

Springfield vs. Grand Rapids for the Calder Cup.

    Weekly Grade: F GG

    Western Central

    Iowa Wild

Remaining at the top of the mighty West Central, is the Iowa Wild. Right at the top of multiple team stats, most notably TOA Differential and Goal Differential, it is hard to bump these guys out of here. They continue to do an excellent job keeping the puck out of their end in general which is very frustrating to play against, as teams really need to execute on the small amount of opportunity's these guys are going to be giving up over the course of a game. With 2 losses in Week 2, they currently have three leading the way from them in @J_durst-8 @juggynuts and @you_mecca_me_sik with a respectable 18 points a piece. It doesn't stop there as their point production is steady through their roster with everyone contributing in producing. Their defensive game stands out again to me as they are 2nd in Goals Against in the entire league, and third in Goals For in the entire league with the 2 teams in front of them as divisional rivals, hence the recognition as the toughest division this season, and these guys are doing an excellent job through Week 2. @Omgprice31 with an unreal 1.7 GAA and and 86.1 SV% has been a perfect 10-0 and remains to be beat. Everything is clicking in Iowa.
    Weekly Grade: A :flames:
    From Last Week: -

    Cleveland Monsters

It continues in the West Central with The Monsters. Boasting a real solid Week 2 with only one loss coming at the hands of the RoadRunners, these guys are going to be a real threat all season long. Another one of the teams in the West that are statistically solid across the board with nothing of real concern. If there was one thing to point out to look to improve to make them even tougher to beat, it would be their PK, which is sitting middle of the league at 76.9%. With that in mind these guys have no problem piling goals in as they have a plethora of point production through their roster and have the second and fourth highest point producers in the league in @Jayscott555 and @deerhunter2911 . A real deep team here, and their "E+" line of @BigFreeze064 @Dherms18 and @GalchyTheBeast27 seemingly rounding the corner in Week 2 and starting to fire on all 4 cylinders and these guys are looking to make a run to topple Iowa off their perch in this division. They've used many goalies now through 2 weeks of play and have had some great performances from some of these TC roster guys. Hitting Week 3 with the goal of continuing to give some teams some real nightmares, these guys are amongst the top in the league.
    Weekly Grade: A :flames:

    Chicago Wolves

An offensive juggernaut themselves are the Wolves. Leading the pack is @Prince-Of-Zeus and @Maddens26 who continue to pillage through anyone in their path with again, high point production throughout their roster. If its one thing the Prince is good at, it is putting the puck in the back of the net and he has an entire team following suit here with to many to name playing consistently through another week of the season. I was able to watch one of their games with @tsibs88 doing his broadcasting, and these guys are a pain in the ass to play from what I saw. Suffocating defensively and really choking out anything coming across the blue line and into their zone, these guys transition the puck quick and are on the attack looking to put a dagger in any chance they get. They don't stop til that buzzer goes and it's 60 minutes of hell for any opponent. Facing Iowa and Cleveland in Week 3 for a "Clash of the Titans" type week, they have a chance to show some teeth in those games and try to show they are number 1 in the West Central in which would be 2 huge wins here for bragging rights alone. 3rd on PP, 3rd on PK, 2nd in TOA, 3rd Shot Differential, 3rd +/-, 2nd in Goal Differential, these guys are beasts indeed.
    Weekly Grade: A :flames:
    From Last Week: -1

    Charlotte Checkers

The Checkers rounding out the top 4 in this Battlezone have been having a steady start to the season. They have brough up their PP% from last week, which is a move in the right direction and as we all now @TheRealGrimlax backing this team up is one of the best around. They have made some moves and look to bump things up a notch again in Week 3 as they continue on their hunt in tracking down some of the animals in front of them in their division. @KJsniper @ptsiaras and @Ducksfanwaterloo leading the way in point production and a well built 2 way type team can have these guys seeing success as the season move along. Losing to some lower teams in week 2 and hammering the Pens in the same week, they will be looking to stabilize play and get some consistency happening. With things coming together here, they will be a force in their own right. An area they can maybe look to improve is their puck possession. With the puck on their sticks more and in the other end of the ice, more wins are bound to happen.

    Weekly Grade: B-
    From Last Week: -

    Manitoba Moose

A real good job by @Deadsoul_Rising and CO assembling this team and they find themselves right in the mix here. This will be a division with a real battle for #4 positioning and the Moose are going to be a real threat for that. With some new solid acquisitions, they have added some scoring strength and with @TylerLOEKEY in net you can expect him to continue to get better and look to bump his SV% over the 80 mark. A challenging Week 3 coming up for these guys playing some of the teams in the conference will be a test for them and if they can come through with some wins against those types of teams they will only have more confidence in knowing that they can compete with the best. Putting the puck in the net when they have the man advantage can only help, so they will look to improve on their PP which is at a weak 17.1% through Week 2.

    Weekly Grade: B-
    From Last Week: +1

    Rockford IceHogs

The IceHogs are coming off a subpar Week 2. Getting shut out twice and with the lowest goals scored in this division, they are going to need to start scoring and getting some of that production through the rest of this roster. They play some of the bottom teams in the league next week and could really use those games to put up some big points and get some confidence going as a team that they can score goals. @Pooler2012 and @Gutta_gun29 are the only ones in the double digits for putting up points right now and if a team cant have three producing lines in this league they are going to have a hard time winning games. Being in this division is of no help to that fact either. Another one of the teams that could badly use their chances on the PP as a way to get some confidence going. Looking to use Week 3 as a week of improvement and start getting things clicking.

    Weekly Grade: C
    From Last Week: -1

    Milwaukee Admirals

One of the highest penalized teams in the league are the Admirals. Obviously they need to stop putting them selves down a man. Its bad enough in general but with this division more or less being a lock from #1 to #3 spots, teams here cant afford to not have 5 guys on the ice as much as possible to give themselves the best chance at winning they can. It shows in Goals Against at 85, for lowest in their division as these guys are obviously paying for it when they are down a man. A recent acquisition to note on this regard is well, is they went out and picked up a top goalie in @Tys_got_tush as they look to get things fixed here and fast as there isn't time to waste in the West. Heading into Week 3 against some of the best the league has to offer, these guys need to make a point of correcting the penaltys and keeping the puck out of their net. Tys is looking to help out here in a big way. Here's to hoping.

    Weekly Grade: C-
    From Last Week: -

    Grand Rapids Griffins

With possibly some intervention from the NHL management, these guys are looking to make some smart moves as things progress along in their journey to work some magic. A notable fact for them this week was 3 straight wins. Facing top teams in their division in Week 3 isn't looking promising but who knows. There is always room for magic and these guys need it more so than anyone. I called it last week on The Deenasty Show and Im not changing my thoughts on it here again. Barring any insane magical tricks of epic proportions, there is no rabbit in the hat here.

Weekly Grade: D :hat-trick:GG (improvement from last week which would have been an F if there was a grading system then)
    From Last Week: -

    WESTERN PACIFIC

    Texas Stars

The Stars are shining bright in Texas as they continue their solid play. One thing worth noting is there move of @Tys_got_tush but they probably wont lose much between the pipes through the trading of him. A bit of a hit and miss week here for these guys but they are still amongst the top of their division and I've got them at #1 here this week. Nothing really stands out to me as far as statistics go, but they will look to keep a steady and strong playing style going into Week 3 to stay where they are.

    Weekly Grade: C+
    From Last Week: +2

    Stockton Heat

One of the best PK's in the league and one of the lowest penalized teams, gives these guys the ability to be playing at even strength a majority of the time. Being a high puck possession team is reflective of that and they can only get better. They could look to boost their PP which could make them even more of a threat in this tight division. Again, another team here with solid play throughout, and that isn't a bad thing at all. A pretty rough week for them with only 3 wins in week 2, but I think they will rebound and be back looking to start some fire up in Week 3. One bad week for a team like this can't move them much. Lets see how they respond moving ahead.

    Weekly Grade: D
    From Last Week: -1

    Bakersfield Condors

Another team here in this division looking to increase their PP is the Condors. If they get things flying here across the board especially on the PP, they are gonna pose a problem for many teams. @jgiroux4 moving some pieces again already with trades being open has no problem moving anyone to tweak and tinker and fluff the feathers of the Condors, as he looks to take flight with his team. A decent week and looking to improve into the next week of course, yet again, lets see how these moves and shifting guys in and out like this affects Week 3. He may be rolling the dice a little, but hes a gambling man and if some of these moves pan out he could get the last laugh.

    Weekly Grade: C+
    From Last Week: -1

    San Antonio Rampage

Coming off a treacherous Week 2, these guys have responded and turned the tables. Good, quick recovery's from bad weeks can be playoff saving once that hunt starts and the playoff push really starts to take shape for some of these teams on the bubble. The Rampage came charging back with some big wins in Week 2 against the Crunch, where they shut them out, and also against the Wolves and these guys are looking to work their way back up. They also dropped a tight one to the Marlies only losing by 1. A good chance in Week 3 for the Rampage as they face some lower seeded teams where they will be looking to win all those games and attempt to upset some of these top teams again and show that they are indeed back in full force and climbing.

    Weekly Grade: B+ :get-carried:
    From Last Week: +2

    San Diego Gulls

With a handful of guys leading the way for the Gulls, they will look to battle away in the Pacific heading into a Week 3 where they will look to come out with some key wins against the teams ahead of them here. With some big wins in their division this week, they can prove themselves as a threat in this very tight division. Like many others in this division a pretty steady team with nothing really standing out all that much or of serious note other than a lacklustre PP at 14%. A pretty rough week had these guys escaping with their feathers seriously ruffled as they had 3 wins. Looking to correct things quick here and follow the Rampage example, expect a better Week 3 from the Gulls.

    Weekly Grade: D
    From Last Week: -

    San Jose Barracuda

A mediocre week has the Barracuda towards the bottom here. In this highly competitive and tight divison every game is going to matter and they need to start winning more than they are losing. They did beat the Marlies in Week 2 and will look to build off of that victory heading into week 3. They are going to be wanting a big week here to move up a bit in the standings here and separate themselves from the bottom.

    Weekly Grade: C
    From Last Week: +2

    Tucson Roadrunners

A team I like to watch, as I think they are working towards good things, but a rough week here for these guys coming out of the hellfire with just 2 wins. Mind you both of those wins were against top of the league teams in the Marlies and the Monsters. Not sure what happened here in their week of games but it doesn't make sense to me to beat top teams like that then lose to bottom teams, but we all know this is a video game and like real life anything can happen. So who knows. At days end they beat two of the best teams in the league right now and need to build off that as they roll into Week 3 and get back to some winning ways. The management team again leading by example putting up some of the top points in the team between all 3 of them so that's a great way to bring along the team you have in place.

Weekly Grade: E o_O(no F because of 2 big wins)
    From Last Week: -3

    Ontario Reign

The Reign are back down, as they were kind of a statistical anomaly last week with numbers showing they would likely drop in the standings and rankings as well. A bunch of changes made here with the trade window opened and these guys are looking for some big improvements. With the most Goals Against in the league at 88, play needs to improve in all areas as goals against cant be blamed simply on the goalies themselves. They need defence improvement here, the puck on their sticks more, less in their net amongst other things. If Week 3 has them facing similar problems it could hurt them pretty badly, as again, this division is extremely tight and you don't want to fall to far behind out of the gates. Reign looking for some of these moves to play a major role in a turn around.

So he's bulletproof to criticism? He said something dumb. I appreciate his write up and the time he took to do the research but still. I was also talking to him, take your white knight ass outta my noti's. It was more of a shot at Marlies lol and I'm kidding about him being on a new team each week. It's due to salary, not skill, he knows this

And you still haven't contacted me about my feature. After my shot at the next level, I deserve it. Lol. Just kidding, man. Hell of a job on this. Keep it up.
