League News Constitutional Amendments

Good morning everyone.

A new season of LGFA brings a new goal for our League Staff - namely league growth. LGFA staff wish to see our league become the landing spot for the best Fifa players, and we have discussed various avenues for us to take in reaching this goal. That being said, we have slightly adjusted the constitution to make life easier for players, owners, and staff in order to facilitate growth and Make LGFA Great.

Firstly, the rule outlined below in the constitution will be removed without replacement.

4.6 : In-Game Communication

In-Game communication between teams is limited to Management ONLY. Players are not to message other players or Management from the opposing team before or during the game, or in between restarts. If a different line of communication is needed for whatever reason, a team’s Management may communicate with any player on the opposing team in an effort to resolve or clear up situations.

We have decided to remove this rule outright as we feel that sanctioning how players interact with each-other doesn't foster the fun and competitive atmosphere we are trying to create. Any instances of spamming or extreme harassment can still be looked at - however we are not being paid to play and we are not wearing a shirt and tie to games. We are not here to babysit and we are definitely not here to worry about chirping.

Second, the rule outlined below will be altered

Suspensions from Yellow and Red Cards ;

1. Straight Red = Next 2 game suspension
2. In game red from two yellows = Next game suspension
3. Accumulate 5 Yellows in League Play (not cups) = Next game suspension

LGFA has decided to alter this rule to make the lives of everyone easier. There will be no penalty for the accumulation of any amount of yellow cards in a season, and the penalty for a red card in a game will be the suspension of the next game, regardless of how the red card was obtained. We were not able to find an instance of a player suspended for accumulating five yellow cards - and we thought that a blanket red-card one game ban would be easier to manage rather than have a tiered match-ban system.

The third and final change to the constitution involves only Owners and Managers, so that will be posted in detail in their respective forums. The rule involves a tiered-fine system for management who fail to keep on top of lineups and stats. The LGFA strongly believes that the key to our expansion is the ability to offer our players an experience that can't be obtained by less organized and less structured leagues. Our main point of emphasis this season is lineups and stats being done at or near 100% of the time.
