S22 they just handed out awards = money = do it that way.

 

It's not a good start when you exclude an entire country that participates in the league with your date selection.

We can just hope next season its planned better then. 3 days notice on a holiday weekend is not a good look.

 

Next season you guys should put together the All star committee on week 1, spend the next 2 weeks coming up with selection criteria, the next week select and notify your players, asking them what days they're available out of the remaining Fridays using this game as an example(can be any night of the week you pick), and pick the Friday that the majority of your number 1 picks can make it. Announce it too the league.

Award top 3 players selected for each position with profile award.

Instead of 1 week to pick captains, another week for them to pick their players, and then 3 days to get those players together on the night you picked. I imagine this game will not be much more organized than last seasons, when those players who were selected did not even know until the night of. Resulting in a diluted player base, and rando's who were available getting all star awards just because they were online.

These are just suggestions, naturally there are many ways to skin a cat.

 

This comment is the very reason why no one takes the ASG seriously.

 

I don't understand the necessary rush to do this mid-season and on the US holiday weekend when people are traveling away from their boxes.

Don't get me wrong, I like the concept that you're trying to pull, but really you couldn't have done this next weekend?

 

What I think he is alluding too is if not played on a holiday weekend... The best of the best would be available and could play.

DOesn't matter how many reserves you have.. The All Star Game is here for the best of the best... The fact you are potentially excluding these players because of the choice of weekend to play the game is wrong.

 

Do you want the best players to be included or do you just want the best people that are available that day? Just name the rosters and don't force people to play a meaningless game that 95% of people will only show up for to get the award on the site.

 

I guess if my previous posts didn't clarify my point, we'll have to agree to disagree.

The ASG is supposed to showcase talent/top players, if those were 1 from each team that'd be cool; but, it loses all its value if it's just a long list of reserves playing.

Imagine how little value is put on the real ASG, and how they have to punish players for not showing up to get them to show up in the first place. Now imagine if there was no punishment for showing up and the ASG didn't have Kane, Quick, Subban, Schneider, Jagr. In lieu of those players, you had a long list of John Scotts.

 

Why not just set up a Pick-up Game sign up, and then confirm the best players who sign up? Call it the all star game.

 

With me being one of those people, video games are a short escape from that reality.

I'll be honest, yeah it makes sense that players get moved to worse teams, but who in their right mind of the GM's are going to pick guys from Bridgeport, Providence, Hershey, Iowa, San Diego or San Jose?

 

And you'd select players on those teams in front of players on the top 4 in each division?
