Media AHLPSN All Star Game Starting Lineups

need a better way to do an actual allstar game than vote half the rosters in and have 2 people pick who they want.

 

Honestly, those two lineups seem pretty legit. Althought i wpuldve liked to see a team for each division, those are the most deserving roster and except for 2 players, theyre all from different teams

 

PP you know I like you but you need a math lesson:

30 teams X 17 players per team = 510 total players in the league

6 nominated players per team X 30 teams = 180 nominated players (35% of the league nominated)

18 players per division X 4 divisions = 72 All Stars (14% of league)

 

Swagger, Loops and I discussed doing 2 teams and doing 4 teams, one per division. Swags was the one captain from last season who really knows the hell we went through trying to get players together to do a tournament. Loops was also involved and had better luck getting players but saw the outcome of the issues in other divisions. It was this reason why we felt two teams to play at least one game was the best way to go for this season.

 

Yeah i can imagine. I wouldnt even be suprised if some people sont show up on this one

 

I wish you were wrong but after last season, I would not be surprised. Its sad though because people always ask about FNP and for the All Stars, this could be a fun and competitive couple of games on a Friday night.
So far its only Dangles that cant make it. Let's hope the others can be there.

Yeah i hope everyone else makes it. I was really bummed when i read lobo's message. I never played vs him yet. But for the other guys in there, it will be a really good game thats for sure.

 

Would love to have had him play but I have to give @LoBo_DaNgLeS_12 a big thanks for letting us know as soon as he could so that we have time to easily get a sub.

What's the point in having so many people being voted on if only 6 players were gonna be chosen? Are we supposed to be ECU's or something?

 

I just hope I can get a participation trophy for being nominated.

It really doesn't matter how this went. It's not an allstar game without dgraves in it. I mean, the guy got drafted by the orioles ffs

 

I never said the guys in it don't deserve it. What LGAHL needs is a consistent way at selection, and something that is transparent and upfront. Really it should be set before the season starts and not determined during the season through that large vote and to narrow it down by having two captains of your choosing select it.

The goal from LG was to select a team, not to have an All Star game. The game is extra.

Also, the vote was always on the LG site to be seen, with the final votes being shown from the end of the voting through now.
Do you want the LG messages as well to prove the GMs picked their players? I can certainly add everyone to all the messages I have if you like.

Again, the All Star selection is the priority, not the game, as mandated by LG. Brodie suggested skipping the game altogether but I wanted to have something for the players. on quick notice, Swagger and Loops volunteered to help out. This was the format we all agreed was the easiest to get together.

It was done in a hasty manner because I mentioned to LG that they were again late on deciding how they were going to do this and the awards ceremony and that while I picked it up on my own last season, I did not feel it was right for a Media Director to handle this. Despite me telling this to the BOGs and Brodie a while back, Brodie felt it was the responsibility of the Media Team. I disagreed but he had no one else stepping up to do it so I took it again for this season. This is why it happened late.

I hope this helps in understanding what went on in the background to all of this.

 

Also, Swagger and Loops were the GMs of the two teams in the final for S4. That was the reason for their selection.
It doesn't hurt either that they volunteered to help organize and communicate with the players. Again, I cant thank them enough for stepping up and helping out.
