AHL Eastern Conference Post Trade Deadline/Push for Playoffs Overview

This is pretty much for all the contending teams. This one is gonna be a little lengthy as there is a lot to cover for the most part. A lot of this is just my opinion, so you may or may not agree with it. Plus @MysticMac_IRE is sad about his recent move in the CHL, so I decided to pick up the slack for him just this once


Syracuse Crunch (45-16-2) 92 Points - 1st in the Eastern Conference and North Division

The Syracuse Crunch have been a powerhouse since the 1st season of LG and that stands true for this season as well despite always having new players. @jmm420 has done a phenomenal job at building this years champion bound team finding players like @domster514 and @fred_spence for 500k a piece during bidding this year. Dom with 54 points and Fred with 52 points. Newly acquired talent of @LoBo_DaNgLeS_12 who is a 54 point getting himself jmm has plenty of backup behind him for spread out offense. Their D-core is pretty impressive, and it should be with 15.5M of their 25M cap being spent on them. @QuicKnesS-02 and @Swifty lead this team in points with AGM @jmligt right behind them (29, 23 and 21 points receptively) sporting a +88 between the three of them. Goalie tandem @TheRealGrimlax and @XCAPEMYSCH--LONG have done a very good job for these guys this year having an 83.7% SV and a 2.05 GAA for Grimlax and a 83.7% SV; 3.58 GAA for Xcape. If these guys slip up these last two weeks, I'll be shocked.

Hershey Bears (40-20-3) 83 Points - 2nd in the Eastern Conference; 1st in Atlantic Division

The Bears. @KittyKing69 and @HJHF14. Pretty good ring to it honestly. These guys have rebuilt a stellar S2 CHL All Star squad which was expected to fail but has not. With forwards @PoopinSince95 @I2I-Way-Hockey @KingJersh and @LudiChris1214 these guys will just about outscore anyone they come across and move the puck extremely well as most of these players have more assists than goals. On defense they are a little shaky at times, but can hold down a lead when it comes down to it. @shrum30 @bstende and @Beened lead this team with 19, 17 and 16 points each but only at a +30 for all three of them combined. They will need to step their game up if they hope to survive deep into the playoffs as the competition will rise around them. The tandem of goalies being @djrico28 and @SteelCityFan17. It's hard to discern who the starter for this squad is as they are both pretty evenly matched. With Rico having the slight edge in SV% and GAA (80.5% to 79.9% and 2.73 to 3.04 GAA) One of these two needs to step up if they want to claim that main starter spot.

Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins (38-22-3) 79 Points - 3rd in the Eastern Confernece; 2nd in Atlantic Division

This squad was where I once played; but I hold no bad feelings towards this squad or its Management team at all. @JLott0910 with the help of @Chriz1265443 and @Cold_Killa-77 have got this team firing on all cylinders with the trio leading the team in points as a single line for the most part with only @NjDevil08 above them by a single point. @Purtuzzi @Guccimane50 and @Dksmith09 have all done really well for them this season with Gucci stepping in very recently. Their D-core is very, very stacked on this team as well. From top to bottom @Moofang @Vows_ofvengence @Tylee and @PatEthic these guys know how to move the puck ad shut down opponents with relative ease. Collectively combining for 64 Points and a solid +63 it's no wonder they were once on top of the Atlantic. The net minders for this club are stellar stealing the show on multiple occasions. @DaBears182 and @steelersfan26 have split duties for this team with little to no issues. Bears having a 79.3% SV and a 3.19 GAA is solid, but Steelers has a slightly better one just as is the case with the Hershey Bears above them sporting a 83.2% SV and a 2.92 GAA. These guys were once at top. I wouldn't be shocked to see them there shortly

Albany Devils (37-24-2) 76 Points - 4th in the Eastern Conference; 2nd in North Division

@BigFreeze064 and @mikeydee1 are doing extremely well for themselves having gotten a solid roster around them with the Freeze leading the team with 53 points followed behind by @xxHazzy-Eyesxx @Kash-kormier and @II-Amazing-ll with 50, 49 and 47 points each. At defense they have got a nice round squad back there all capable of moving the puck quickly and efficiently. @Austin2997 @King__Ramon and @Schutempo with Mikey all have a solid contribution to the offensive side of things. Together they have a +53 which is decent but nothing like we have seen from other teams in this league. This goalie tandem needs a little work if they wanna make the final push to be a serious threat. With @TheBipolarJew69 and @miviens are solid and have won more than they have lost but each of them having a 78.5% and 76.8% SV and a 3.26/3.4 GAA they could be doing a little more to keep the puck out of the twine behind them.

Springfield Thunderbirds (36-23-4) 76 Points - 5th in the Eastern Conference; 3rd in Atlantic Division


@Thumbssss has done a very solid job at keeping this team competitive. Him with @Craven-A-27 and @Water_wheels will make any change necessary to keep winning. @Baertschi_47 at 58 @bobbyhill07 at 54 and @fatgillie at 47 are top their team offensively leading in points. With the man running the show behind them with 46. Craven leads the charge on the blue line with team leader @Scarcella89-_- for points at 17 and 22 respectively. The remainder of the defensive core is still trying to mesh together and shut opposing teams down but are still winning games due to their goalies behind them. @SGDragonSlayer former CHL TC All Star turned into AHL starter after just one short offseason (had to man XP) has done a great job for them in net two weeks ago securing 2 shutouts, one against a bottom team, but another against a top team. Sporting a 76.4% SV and a 3.65 GAA. Their back up may be a @prouddad1977 but he's also a goalie to recognize as well. Having a 77% SV and a 3.16 GAA is one worth mentioning. Hopefully these can step it up as the playoff hockey starts for them this week fighting for seeding.

Utica Comets (35-26-2) 72 Points - 6th in the Eastern Conference; 3rd in North Division


Behind Veteran leadership of @Jg3542jg and @Bizness101 these two are well known guys of this community in both the AHL and NHL league. Together these two have put together a pretty solid line up worthy of a playoff spot although it is on the cusp. With @CanadianKush2121 @Marktsib @Obey_the_Sandman and newly acquired @Its_Jimbo_Slice leading this team in points (65, 58, 55 and 53) all knowing how to pass the puck to the best available target sporting higher assists than goals for all four of them. Bizness leads this blue line core with 23 points followed behind @Chex_Mex83 @Lizardman and @Backroad2philly. If some of these boys hunker down and start to shut out the opposition with only a +13 in Goal Differential they will be able to go deep into the playoffs. The duo of goalies has remained the same for this team since Day 1. @TylerLOEKEY having a 79.5% SV and a 2.14 GAA leads the charge but has not had luck on his side when it comes to the W/L as he's lost more than he has won. @DrOz2385 has been on the other side of that with a 73.4% SV and a 3.95 GAA but has won more than he has lost. It's strange but the formula has given them a playoff spot and they seem to be sticking to it.

St. John's Ice Caps (30-26-7) 67 - Points 7th in the Eastern Conference; 4th in the North Division


Returning GM for his second consecutive season @x4HxPESTILENCEx he's come back from just shy of reaching playoffs last year to almost securing that spot this year, alongside him is @HunterofHaj manning the helm. @MafiaMan15 trailing behind @Kingbling647 by two points on the season in a tight race for the Scoring Title. With Haj, @xTarasenko91_ Pestilence and @Rampagekiller815 balancing out this teams scoring but are really even on the +/- scale. Hopefully Mafia can turn that around for these guys. But the back line that holds the defensive zone is a different story with their top four dmen being @phillygonaspanku @Vito_Corleone @JSILVERS and @Thunder_Thums all combining for 71 points and a +55 these guys look to carry this team to its first appearance in the playoffs. Their goalie tandem tho is one to study closely due to a lack of information. @xKLuTchDoLphiNx and @Im-beast-ur-not_ are keeping those pucks out of the net fairly well lately. With Klutch having a 79.9% SV and a 2.88 GAA and Beast with a similar 79.4% and 2.49 GAA. These guys may be in 7th but their stats can rival even the Hershey Bears, don't sleep on these guys.

Providence Bruins (30-28-5) 65 Points - 8th in the Eastern Conference; 4th in the Atlantic


With this team being the final spot for the East and it is very much still up for contention this squad looks to make the final push to make it there. With @Yahnsanity as GM and @Filthy_Habitz as his AGM these two have made the final changes to the roster to get there. With @Squall227 leading the team with 62 points followed up by Yahn and the QC duo that is @xNastyQcx and @xtoastyQcx with 36 and 35 a piece. These guys have just had bad luck at the blue line with a majority of their players in the negative but it looks like a change of scenery for some new player acquisitions in @ChefBurnz @Krypt_Keepa and @Robster_819. With these new dmen hopefully @bottle_man and @HorridCRSP will get the help they need to finish out the year strong. This team has dressed 6 goalies (that I can tell) and all of which are decent but they have chosen to go with starter @Tys_got_tush and the backup being @criminalSantos_7. Ty has a 79.9% SV and 3.29 GAA while Santos has a 74.2% SV and a 2.67 over four games, not a lot of data from these two. Hopefully this gamble for them will pay off in the end.

Lehigh Valley Phantoms (29-32-2) 60 Points - 2.5 games back. Verdict: Likely
Bridgeport Sound Tigers (27-32-4) 58 Points - 3.5 games back. Verdict: Likely
Toronto Marlies (23-31-9) 55 Points - 6 games back. Verdict: Unlikely
Hartford Wolf Pack (20-34-9) 49 Points - 8 games back. Verdict: Very Unlikely
