Besides 7 minutes seems to go by pretty fast anywho. It really isn't that long once you get into it.... atleast for me anyways.

I like 6 more, because a hour and 30 minutes is a long game. I think a lot of stuff will come up in that time.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but how long a game takes isn't our primary concern. Realistic stat totals and number of plays called is.

Whatever "stuff" would come up during that time (which you would have likely pre-scheduled to play with your opponent) isn't important (unless the house is on fire or it's something serious). Also, you'd need to allow extra time to enter in all of the stats to the scoreboard if you should happen to win your game (which can take up to 15 minutes if alot of players saw action). Keep this in mind when we post signups for Madden, you'll need to set aside at least 90 minutes of uninteruppted time on XBox Live, as well as the ability to restrict anyone else on your router/internet connection from using it to prevent lag (ie. kids, brothers/sisters, parents, roommaters, etc).

I agree with that, you want stats that look real, not RB's with 3000 yards in a seaon

I know, I know, before I get flamed, ESPN 2k5 doesn't have that problem anymore.

Alright game is over, and it wasn't that long. I even wrote down how long it went for, here is a summary:

    Code:
    1st Quarter: 1:59-2:14
    2nd Quarter: 2:14-2:31
    3rd Quarter: 2:31-2:44
    4th Quarter: 2:44-3:01

    TOTAL DURATION: 1 Hour, 2 minutes....62 minutes
    TOTAL PLAYS

    socalguy: 49 Plays
    burntCanuck: 90 Plays

For those wondering why plays were so lopsided, I returned 3 INT's for TD's, and 1 Fumble Recovery for TD. Ohh yeah, and 1 Kickoff was returned for TD by me. I only had 1 offensive TD.

And, here are the game stats:

    good one.

I want this saved for the end of maddens first season. :)

If striker plays madden anything like he plays espn with 7 min quarters his favorite back will get no less than 50 touches a game. :)

Watch the NFL much? That's not out of the ordinary at all.

I'd say that's on the high side from other 7min/qtr results we've been seeing though, check my first stats post in this thread.

Plus, 3 INTs for TD is a little out of whack and that helped make the score look odd.

Yeah I still remember your SS running 15 yards in under 2 seconds to grab the INT and ran it back. Not to mention he broke a tackle by Robert Gallery using the Hit Stick

    Was fun though.

As for the 3 INT's returned for touchdowns, it was just that Rattay didn't have any accuracy at all. And on top of that, he was throwing them to the outside, where I had a clear lane to run it right down the side line with my d-backs, who are much faster than Tim Rattay and his linemen.

I've had some big scoring games in 4 min quarters, I think 5 is the perfect compromise.
