Contenders and Pretenders of S19

Hey everyone,
I will be ranking the best and worst teams that have a chance to make playoffs this season. One of these teams may be outside of the playoffs at the moment but I still consider most of the Western Conference up for grabs to make playoffs. I decided to pick 2 Contenders and 2 Pretenders for each conference. These are NOT in any sort of order.

Contenders

1. Hershey Bears
- IMO my pick to win it all if I had to put money on the line. They have 2 very good lines that are capable of beating any line put out there against them. Their 3rd is probably a 2nd ish on most teams which is always a good sign. Only hope of stopping these guys is vetoing QC every game.

2. Toronto Marlies
- No surprise they should be up here considering they got stacked up by trading away NHL talent. 3 deep lines that have a lot of skill, only knock on them right now is that they have little to no chemistry. I don't really see any flaws on their team and even if there was one the other players will make up for it.

3. Abbotsford Canucks
Clear cut fav to win the Western Conference in my opinion. They have a very good FWD and Dcore compared to the other western conference teams. Arguably have the best G7 line in the West which is always helpful. Only knock on them is maybe their third line but we'll see how that plays out. I'm looking for these guys to make a deep run regardless.

4. San Diego Gulls
This one was a tough call but after looking at the other teams below them I had to pick them. They have one of the better Dcores in the league, possibly best in the west... I'm not a huge fan of their FWD core I think that will end up hurting them in Playoffs.

Pretenders

1. Rochester Americans
It was tough to pick a Pretender in the East but with all the hype around them to start the season, they've hit a break wall since a few of their send downs got called up. With that being said they have one of the better top lines in the league but I just don't see much talent on the bottom two lines to keep up in the East. Prove me wrong.

2. Laval Rocket
This one was another tough call as all 8 teams in the East have a chance to make it far but I think these guys have a lesser chance. I'm not a fan of the majority of their non-management players. I don't think line 2 and line 3 on this line has as much depth as all the other Eastern teams.

3. Coachella Valley Firebirds
I'm gunna be honest, this team is a joke compared to what they had to start the season. They lost a few guys to bans and some others to NHL trades and call-ups. There is a very good chance these guys don't make playoffs considering line 2 and 3 are almost CHL level.

4. Milwaukee Admirals
As much as I want to see @DirtyDanglez-88 do good, this team is not it. They lack high end skill & depth which is a recipe for disaster. Another team that may not make with how their roster is looking.

 

Who thought I'd be apart of one of the best D cores in the league?

 

Nobody said anything about it, and nobody thinks that.

 

It's literally in the write up guy saying the Gulls has one of the best D cores. Font is pretty big, it's not hard to read.
