contract upgrade idea

While I agree that the contract structure is a little outdated, HUT stuff doesn't attract many people (myself included,) because we simply don't play HUT.

We should find ways to compensate an owner who gets a solid contract in bidding (lower % in contract increase if resigned for a longer amount of years, stuff like that,) but HUT stuff is for HUT.

This might be one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever seen on here lmao

 

We should try to find ways to give incentives for getting large contracts, because right now its terrible to be signed to a contract over 8 mil. Its much better for someone to go in the chatbox, tell everyone they'll quit, can only play thursdays, etc. to lower their contract than it is to take their fair value contract and move on.

The incentive should not be HUT related, and I have no ideas for the incentive other than that having a small one could lead to people being okay receiving higher contracts.

Okay let me give this a try.. I see 5 million as the minimum contract necessary for "Contract Bonuses"

I can't really think of much that a specific owner could give to their player to entice them but maybe something around the website?

My initial idea would be for some sort of account upgrade for those who fit the criteria, not sure if @Tris10 would get on board with this because he might lose money so probably not.

Fun coloured name in the chatbox? We all know how much we live for the chatbox and standing out in a bright pink would definitely make me want to go into bidding.

An "Elite Lounge" in the forums where all the big spenders can go talk shit about all the peasants unmonitored.

We could implement a list of "Goals" for the season that each player has to try accomplish. Similar to your EASHL leveling up system.. "Score 10 goals" would be equivalent to 100k LG Dollars and so on. At the end of the season, add all your LG Dollars to your contract and have your season total, could have leaderboards for it and maybe even throw together a year end poker tournament with all the LG Dollars you've accumulated for fun.

There, not sure if any of these will actually happen but feel free to add to them.

 

Just give players a trade request if they're signed to an expensive contract (5.0M+), even if it's a one season deal. That way if they go for something like 8.0 M, and they end up on a terrible team, they at least have a potential way out instead of just quitting.

It's not a perfect solution but I'm not sure what else you can do. You can't really give someone real financial benefits for playing lghl.
